Well, looks like I bought a Miata at auction today!

No idea why, kind of went with the moment on this one lol. Looked at it, thought it was nice and I wanted to play with one for a couple days as it’s been a while since I got to drive one, so... here I am!

1.6L engine, hardtop AND soft top, LSD, 85000 miles, minor scratches here and there but good condition overall. AC Compressor works but blows hot air and pop-up headlights seem locked on the “up” position. I’ll have to look into it... Other than that, not a single rust, no tear in the interior... Just a great little car! Can’t wait to play with it in the mountains. It will be on sale fairly soon, probably for around or a bit less than $5000 landed. With a hardtop, I think it’s a decent/hard to beat price :)

Bonus: how to test if a car has a LSD in an auction parking lot? Not discreet, but it works :)

I wouldn’t buy a car I’m not interested in myself haha. It will be played with in the mountains for a couple days before waiting for a new owner. I can’t stay with the cars much longer unfortunately as I live 200km away from work and we keep the cars on dealer plates, we don’t re-register them...

Probably AT 5000$ shipped... But I’ll try to squeeze the price down if I can :)

As for details, a lot more will come, with A LOT of pictures coming up too... I knew it would be a car Oppos would like so... :)

I litterealy just bought it this morning near my home and it will be shipped to my work (200km away) in a couple of days.

That strut bar looks like a Mazdaspeed dealership item or someone pulled one off an NB1 car equipped with the factory sport suspension package. I’ve sold a NB2 shock tower brace (non-adjustable) to a NA and it fit with no issues. NB1 brace below:

I also spy aftermarket tubular exhaust headers, parking brake grip, and steering wheel. I’m not sure about the floor mats because that might be a Japan-only deal (curse you for having all the cool Miata parts) but those stainless steel speaker surrounds are semi-rare (at least in the US, ‘93 LE only) factory item!

Damnit, missed the openning!! haha. I might actually fly to the US to bring a couple 240Z back to Japan and convert them to RHD. They are very expensive here and it’s much, much cheaper to bring them back from the US.

Ah, damn! I was hoping they would be cheaper in Japan haha. One of my neighbors has this 280z just sitting in front of his house, outside, under a car cover for nearly a decade now. I want him to sell it to me badly but he refuses. I’ll keep pestering him.

I desperately need an S30z... Hopefully by the end of the year I’ll manage a little round trip to the US :)
